To continue clean up around the facility, Boeing is being reissued a special permit called the Corrective Action Permit.

APAC is committed to working for the community and by the community of Algona/Auburn. As such, we’d like to inform you that the Corrective Action Permit, which Boeing has been operating under since 2006 and allows Boeing to continue cleaning up the contamination off their property, will be reissued to them by the department of ecology. This permit is in accordance with the Hazardous Waste Management Act of 1976 as well as the RCW and WAC. The permit is a procedural item, not the result of any new development on the site. Click here to read the permit.

Simultaneously, Department of Ecology is updating its public participation plan. The plan informs the public how department of ecology will engage with the public regarding the cleanup, whether it’s communicating information or receiving feedback. Click here to read the public participation plan.

There will be a 45-day comment period in which you may comment on the permit, the permit application and the public participation plan. The comment period begins July 19, 2018 and ends September 7, 2018. Click here to submit your comments.

A hearing about any of these requirements may be requested, only if a minimum of 10 people request the hearing.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email Marisol Diaz or call her at 206-343-0681 ext.111
